About Me

Everyone is different and ‘mental health’ and, as we know, covers a huge spectrum of difficulties. That is why, when it comes to treatment, there is no one size fits all. You may be facing a number of different challenges in your life which may need slightly different approaches.

As your therapist, it is my job to talk with you in order to help you, and I, better understand what you are going through and identify how best to help you to manage those difficulties effectively.

To do that, I will call upon my 30 years of experience gained in a variety of roles, and settings and my extensive knowledge of different therapeutic approaches in addressing mental health issues. My therapeutic style is compassion based.

I am genuinely interested in getting to know you and the problem, so that together we can find the right combination of therapeutic techniques and interventions that best suit your needs.

My experience includes working alongside clients suffering with depression, anxiety disorders including panic and agoraphobia, obsessive compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and generalised anxiety disorder. I have also helped a number of clients whose phobias, health anxiety and low self-esteem were hampering their lifestyle.

Very often, I will call upon different techniques to help you.

I am a registered mental health nurse, a fully qualified and accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) and Interpersonal Psychotherapist for Depression (IPT) and I have a degree in Integrative Counselling. These provide me with various psychological concepts to talk over with you in order to find the one that you feel most comfortable with.

Please feel free to contact me to discuss your needs.

I continue to work within the NHS as a CBT therapist and supervisor. I have a private practice in Cambridge and I work for the University of Hertfordshire as a clinical supervisor and visiting lecturer.
